Our Team

We bring different perspectives to the table, but we’re united by a love for purposeful work

Rose

I believe I am a good case manager because I have a genuine interest in getting to know people. Even when I don’t have all the answers, I strive to guide people in a way that helps them navigate their journey while feeling valued and safe. I take pride in my ability to listen and help people find the answers that support their growth, while I continue to grow alongside them as a case manager.

I believe what makes me a good case manager is my strong desire to help in any way I can and my commitment to learning as much as possible so I can better support others. As a future social worker, this is my first experience, helping people other than my friends. The little time so far here at Beacon has shown me how much I enjoy, listening, being a pathetic, and building trust with others. I am a positive and energetic person who is hardworking even though I have a lot to learn. I see every new challenge/experience as an opportunity to grow and become someone who I can help more people in the future.

I believe I am a good case manager because I look at the whole picture of a person: what makes them engaged with you, what matters to them, their values. I believe I am very empathetic and a good listener. I lead with a strengths-based thought process: what is the positive we can take from what’s happening, and how do we improve upon that strength to empower my client?

Breana

I believe I am a good case manager because I am dedicated to making the lives of my clients better. I will always do my absolute best to make sure they accomplish the goals they want to and learn the skills that they need to become successful and independent adults. I am also a good listener and take into consideration their feelings of worry and anxiety and am dedicated to relieving as much of that as possible.

I believe I am an organized case manager who stays on top of details and deadlines to ensure nothing is missed. I am a good listener who takes the time to understand each client’s needs and concerns. By listening carefully and communicating clearly, I build trust and strong relationships. I am always ready to help by providing support, guidance, and solutions when they are needed most.

I am a fan of Iyanla V. And I have her quote on sticky note on my mirror: I am poweful. Stand in your power! Embrace your power. Serve the world by bringing your power into others and I use this by developing strong relationships and trust with my clients. I don’t portray that I know everything but confident in finding the answer to help my clients. I am a good listener and have the ability to adapt to change.

Anabel

I think I’m a good case manager because I genuinely care and take the time to listen. I stay organized and make sure I follow through, so clients know they can count on me. I’m big on advocating for people while also helping them learn to advocate for themselves. When I don’t know the answer to something, I will do research to figure it out.

Malarie

I m a Bachelors of Social Work student at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am currently in my last semester before graduation. Throughout my education and professional experiences, as a social work intern at a Boys and Girls Club and a Support Worker at Empower, I supported caseworkers with children and families, documentation, and built trauma informed relationships with youth. I witnessed first hand how trauma, instability, and limited resources affect the lives of children and families.

Being a support worker has allowed me to come in contact with those I want to serve. I not only completed multiple training on Trauma Informed Care, Substance abuse, and Adolescent Depression, but I was also able to put that training in use when communicating with clients. I couldn’t be more eager to get back into the field and create a safe space for those in need.

My long term goal is to become a licensed clinical social worker that specializes in mental health and behavioral health. I want to support women, children, and families. My internship with Beacon has given me an opportunity to take a step further into achieving that goal. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to actively listen and empathize with others, which allows me to understand their perspectives and build trust. I hope to learn and grow more confident working with clients one on one, create safety plans, conduct assessments, strength based approaches, and evidence based counseling approaches.
